ARTIST STATEMENT
For me, creating art is like heading out on an adventure with no set destination in mind. There may be locales I want to explore along the way, but the expedition is deliberately open-ended, with no clear outcome or hoped for result.
This fluid approach means I might take an inviting side road, only to find it leads nowhere interesting. On the other hand, a faint path I follow on a whim may unexpectedly give way to a spectacular vista. Or perhaps I come across a quiet meadow and linger, soaking in the peace of the changing light.
If I stay open, the work leads me to greater understanding, and in the happiest of circumstances, takes me to places I didn't even know existed. This is what keeps me coming back to the studio; to see what lies around the next bend, and what discoveries await.
